Private Session 

A one-on-one session is the ultimate self-care experience. Whether you want to work on balance postures or explore movements that build bones or just have a workout buddy that challenges you to increase your strength and endurance, a private session is a perfect opportunity for the movement and breath to be tailored to you.

YOGA
Drawing from a variety of styles, you will experience the complexities of yoga in a gentle but profound way. This 60-75 minute offering is filled with conscious and intentional discovery of your body's magic and strength. I use props such as blankets, blocks, chairs and straps and, if you are in my studio, we will also incorporate fit balls and wall ropes to allow your body to fully achieve each posture to its full potential. Appropriate for any level including those with physical challenges or injuries, those new to yoga.


YOGA THERAPY

Yoga Therapy is yoga with a specific focus. It is client-centered, molding the teachings to your needs. Yoga Therapy places equal emphasis on the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of being. It is for anyone and any body with any physical, emotional or spiritual condition including chronic pain, arthritis, insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, injury etc. The modalities we use include yoga, somatic movement, journaling, mudra, pranayama, yoga nidra and meditation. “The goals of yoga therapy include eliminating, reducing, and/or managing symptoms that cause suffering; improving function; helping to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of underlying causes of illness; and moving toward improved health and well-being.” IAYT. Sessions are 60-90 minutes.

FELDENKRAIS
I am currently studying to be a Feldenkrais Practitioner. After two years I am now certified to teach Awareness Through Movement classes and will be in 2024 online and in-person. Please go to my Group Classes and my Online Classes pages to see my offerings.

In two years I will be certified to offer Functional Integration lessons which are hands on and quite brilliant. Beginning in May of 2024, I will be looking for volunteers to be my students for private practice sessions.


FITNESS

I am a personal trainer ready to design a program for you! These sessions are usually 60 - 70 minutes in length and visit three of the myriad components of fitness: Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, and Flexibility. Within this framework I weave in balance, gait training, alignment, core, posture, and agility, We use our own body weight as well as bands and balls to challenge and tone the whole body.

SCOLIOSIS
Scoliosis manifests differently in each body. Each curve follows it own rules. In my private sessions, we take the practices of yoga, fitness, and Feldenkrais and adapt them in various ways to suit your specific curve/s…essentially making the movement support and challenge your body. We adjust the yoga postures to support harmony and symmetry. We find non-impactful fitness exercises to increase your strength. We use the magical movements of Feldenkrais to erase old patterns and find effortless ways to more. Your body intelligence builds and eventually embraces stronger core muscles, ease of movement, and a more balanced posture. Our goal—working towards symmetry, suppleness and strength—can result in less back pain, less discomfort, and a new-found confidence. Sessions are 75 minutes.


CANCER RESTORATION

As a Cancer Exercise Specialist, I have extensive training of the effects of cancer treatment on the human body. I have worked with students who have lymphedema, scar tissue, reduced range of motion, early onset menopause, bone loss, neuropathy and all the emotional and mental health issues that are not seen but only felt deep within. Sessions are 60 minutes and are gentle, mindful to your stage of recovery, and progressively more challenging as we guide your whole self toward rejuvenation and well-being.
